PATIOS
FROM A “TIDY UP” TO A NEW INSTALLATION.
We rejuvenate tired patios.
Time – and weather - takes its toll on patios.
Sometimes all that is required is a little TLC: We use high power jet washers to clean away dirt and algae, get down on our hands and knees to remove old grout and replace it with smart looking geo-fix which, unlike mortar joints, is resistant to freeze- thaw cycles and will not pop out with frost.
Geo-Fix forms a solid joint that resists weed and plant growth yet is water permeable, allowing water to escape to prevent ponding.
Just add a new plant pot or two and we can create a brand-new looking patio in just a day!
We create new patios and pathways.
We believe in hard work – not short cuts - to create patios that last:
We remove your old patio – or dig out the area for your new one.
We lay a membrane to prevent weed and plant growth.
We put down a deep bed of hardcore.
We use a compactor to create a firm, flat base.
We lay the slabs or block paving carefully to ensure they are flat, even and look perfect.
Then we point them with geo-fix to create a frost resistant finish.
We are happy for you to watch us work, knowing that our workmanship is second to none, providing you with a beautiful patio that will look good for years to come.
Whether you want a modern, traditional, or contemporary design, with our free design service we can suggest variety of materials, styles, textures and colours to suit your taste and budget.

Whether you need a garden wall to create a feature or as a retaining wall, Grove Landscaping and Fencing will recommend and supply the perfect solution.
BRICK WALLS
Firstly, choose the bricks to suit your budget and your style (there are so many great looking decorative bricks that we can’t list them all here!).
Then we build a wall that displays so much attention to detail that it deserves to be a feature of your garden.
We are experts in natural rockery sandstone walls or standard bricks walls.
We can also build retaining walls using standard bricks and block work – and even face them with veneered walling (an option that is more long lasting and hard wearing than traditional render).
GABION WALLS
Gabions are square or rectangular containers manufactured from thick galvanised wire in a range of sizes which can be filled with a range of different materials.
Once just a cost-effective way to retain banks, gabions are now viewed as both environmentally friendly and the epitome of designer chic.
Grove Landscaping and Fencing has used gabions both to undertake large projects to protect riverbanks (the traditional use for gabions) – a process that involves more perspiration than inspiration - and, on a more domestic level, Grove has used gabions to build feature walls with integrated seating, raised planters, fire pits and steps.
Not only do they look good, if you need to remove hardcore from your garden they represent a clever way of avoiding the use of skips: using the hardcore as back-fill in the gabion behind a facing of decorative stone or slate.
SLEEPERS
We only use new (virgin) timber sleepers for our projects – the use of reclaimed creosoted railway sleepers is now restricted for health reasons.
New sleepers (which can be profiled to increase their aesthetic appeal still further) are becoming an increasingly popular choice for retaining walls.
Not only do they look good, they are actually stronger than brick walls, they are much cheaper to build since no brick laying is required and their size (typically each one is 2.4 metres long) means that they can be built very quickly.
From a “general tidy up” to a complete redesign, you will be amazed at how much Grove Landscaping and Fencing can achieve.
TIDY UPS.
Especially in the summer months it’s amazing how a garden can get “out of hand”. If you’re busy at work its hard to find the time to “get on top of it”. If you’re elderly or disabled the prospect of maintaining your garden can be daunting.
That’s where just one day using Grove Landscaping and Fencing can make a real difference – getting all the hard work done, leaving you time to enjoy your garden.
Whether you need trees pruned, hedges trimmed, tree stumps removed, rubble removed, gardens dug or patios cleaned we are there to help.
GARDEN REDESIGNS
Grove Landscaping and Fencing can bring your vision to life.
Whether it’s a small courtyard garden or a larger area we can help you make the most of your garden – turning it into a living area to enjoy and be proud of.
If you have specific ideas, we will follow your brief; if you have a wish list we can advise on how best to achieve it ... and if you need inspiration we can provide it.
From cool, contemporary, low maintenance gardens to sweeping flower and vegetable beds and dramatic features, Grove Landscaping and Fencing does the hard work, leaving you to enjoy your new garden.
Low maintenance means keeping gardens to a manageable level and to match your circumstances.
They are the perfect solution if you are elderly, gardening with a disability, have busy lives, have a rental property … or just don’t like gardening!
Low maintenance gardens don’t mean that you have to just lay slabs!
If you look at the Royal Horticultural Society website there is plenty of advice on how to achieve low maintenance gardens without getting rid of plants.
At Grove Landscaping and Fencing we can provide the foundations to make gardening easier and pleasurable.
Widening pathways and removing steps to make access easier
Laying stylish patios
Installing water features
Creating seating and areas for socialising
Building raised beds
Creating very low maintenance rockeries
In short, Grove Landscaping and Fencing can help you to create low maintenance gardens that will lift your spirits and enhance your home.
Artificial grass is ideal if you have a lawn that gets heavy wear or is on a bank that is hard to mow.
Grove Landscaping and Fencing brings the same attention to detail to laying artificial turf as it does to everything that we do.
There are no short cuts to achieving the best results.
We will remove your existing lawn, lay down a weed barrier, spread a deep layer of crushed stone and sand over the weed membrane and pack it down using a mechanical compactor, add a thick layer of sand on top of the stone mix and make sure it is perfectly flat and smooth … and then add a layer of shock absorbent material (to give an authentic “springy” feel to your lawn) …and only then will we lay your artificial grass.
The result will be an artificial lawn that looks and feels perfect and will last for years.
